My Beautiful Cousin {Bec}

Over Christmas we had family at our house, there is always lots of noise, plenty of food and way too many girls (or so my Dad and Husband would say, because they were outnumbered 9 to 2). While all my sisters and gorgeous cousin were here I managed to talk Bec into having some photos done, she has recently got herself a DSLR and wanted to learn a bit more about it, she was going to take photos of me aswell, since I need a new one for my ‘about me’ page (coming soon!), but getting into a bathroom around here to do my hair turned into a bigger task than I thought (again, 9 GIRLS!). I had a little trouble picking a favourite so im afraid this is a big post ;)

Leave some love if you visit :) I love to hear from you!

Kloe & Abbey

My children are what got me into photography, I have always taken LOTS of photos of them and we had a long period there where they would run from me if I had the camera in my hand. Sometimes experimenting or working on a new technique requires models and when you have three children they are often called upon to ‘assist’, there has been many lollipop’s passed over as bribery for just ‘one more shot’

But this time was different, Kloe actually didn’t mind me taking these photos (as much), so here she is with her BFF, Abbey, all dressed up and ready for their Year 7 ball. I have no words… they are such beauties!

The bridge to home {and blossoms}

I was sick last week, the dreaded winter flu got me. Fortunately I got on to it early and started taking some vitamins which really took the sting out of it, feeling very blessed that while those around me have been suffering for 2 and 3 weeks with it, I managed to shake it in 5 days! So what’s a girl to do when she is unwell? Go home to mums, of course. Here are a couple of photos I took while I was in Albury.

Taken around the Hume Weir Bridge, it has been years since I have been out there, and with the recent rains the Weir didn’t look to bad.

These were taken on the side of the Highway on the way home, I spotted this stunning blossom tree and had to pull over!

I have some lovely weddings coming up that I am photographing, and I cant wait for wedding season to be in full swing and see some of these beautiful brides!

Winter is such a pretty time of the year, yes, cold as it is…

The girls and I went for a picnic on Friday, we had some lovely late sunshine and we had baked cupcakes. We took my Nannas blanket and found a nice spot to enjoy the sun… we also had some fun with Bubbles, ribbon sticks and confetti. I wish my girls could have known Nanna, had the opportunity to make pancakes with her on the weekends, gone mushrooming or read a book, she truly was a gem :) So I got a photo of them wrapped in Nans blanket, wrapped in love…

Hope you have been lucky enough to have some sunshine :)

We had a great catch up weekend, and decided to go to Beechworth for the afternoon, I haven’t been there for years.. we wandered the main st, looking in shops, visited the famed Beechworth Bakery and had caulioccoli pies (cauliflower & broccoli in cheese sauce) and the kids HAD to go to the lolly shop, which was crazy busy but they spent at least 1/2 hour in there deciding what to spend their money on. I, of course, had the camera but was enjoying the day so much I forgot to take too many photos, but here are a couple…. Beechworth is beautiful, I would LOVE to shoot a wedding there!

Puddle Jumping {and the new boots}

May 28th, 2010

Gabby really needed new gumboots, after I tried her old ones on and had to cut them of her feet!
Off we went this morning to buy the gumboots and as with most things, they didn’t have her size in the ones she really liked and her second choice was a blue pair with soccer balls [...]

Off we went this morning to buy the gumboots and as with most things, they didn’t have her size in the ones she really liked and her second choice was a blue pair with soccer balls on them (!?) , I finally talked her around to a nice plain pink and white pair :)

On the way home we did a little detour and got some photos in her new boots, it has to be said though that within 2 minutes on location she got a bit upset that we were in the woods and there could be bears, this from a child that told me today she wanted a baby Jaguar..

WARNING: Capacity exceeded – cuteness overload!

Now I just have to decide which of these I will get on a canvas!

And then there were 4 {candles on the cake}

May 27th, 2010

I haven’t gotten around to posting these yet.. although I have been thinking about them for much of the week. Gabby turned 4 last Friday and she has since been telling everyone “I four, then I will be five”, and yes, I am sure that before we realise it another year will have passed and she will be 5. This actually makes me so sad, Its not that I don’t want her to grow up, but she really wasn’t a baby long enough so for now I will enjoy her being 4 and watch with amazement what this year brings for her.

She got a bike for her birthday (with a Dora helmet, of course!) and although she loved it, because it means she can ride with her big sisters now.. she was just a little disappointed that it wasn’t BLUE! She is not a girly girl by any means my Gabby, as much as I try to dress her up, she much prefers tracksuit pants and runners, she wont let me do her hair in pigtails or ribbons and insists on wearing it in either a low ponytail or a braid down the back. Her fringe grows so quickly that it is hanging in her eyes most all of the time, but she is amazing and beautiful and so smart (I know I am probably biased, but really she is!). Each of my babies have qualities that make me love them so much more, and with Gabby its when ever she looks at me with those big brown eyes, it kills me and she could get away with just about anything!

P.S.. these were taken in the last 5 mins of light, after the sun had gone down… my new camera makes my heart sing!
