I love having a catch up with my brides and grooms before their wedding to chat about details and get a few pre wedding shots!

I have known Stuart and Shevaughn for sometime now and was so pleased when they ask me to photograph their wedding here in Echuca, I know its going to be a gorgeous day with all the details Shevaughn has been filling me in on, plus Ill get to spend the day with my husband since he is driving our Vintage Oldsmobile for the wedding day.

Some images we got while working out plans for the day….

On a perfect winters day…

July 15th, 2011

they were wed, in fact, I think they picked one of the most gorgeous winter days yet!
Cath and Shane had such a lovely intimate wedding, with just immediate family, some gorgeous accommodation (Adelphi Apartments) and a dinner at Oscar W’s on the Echuca Warf. I was so pleased to share in the day with them.

Lemon Meringue Pie & Bunting {DIY}

I have been finding more and more lately I forget to get the camera out for personal stuff, and I really wanted to make an effort to change that, but no one wants endless photos on here detailing the life and times of my little family. But, the kids and I at times work on little craft projects, I often find inspiration for things online and thought why not put our little projects up here too… you may not find anything in this post even remotely interesting, but then again you might.

We found a Lemon Meringue recipe at Exclusive Foods, and the bunting was a inspired by the many online (try etsy if you’d rather just buy some). We used Calico, ribbon and some vintage inspired papers for ours (total cost of about $15.00 to make 36 flags), keeping a raw edge on the calico for a bit of texture and a contrasting thread for the stitching across the top, as an added bonus this really wasn’t very time consuming and if you have some extra hands available the cutting out would be easy!!

They would look so pretty strung up for a garden tea or wedding reception!

My Beautiful Cousin {Bec}

January 7th, 2011

Over Christmas we had family at our house, there is always lots of noise, plenty of food and way too many girls (or so my Dad and Husband would say, because they were outnumbered 9 to 2). While all my sisters and gorgeous cousin were here I managed to talk Bec into having some photos done, she has recently got herself a DSLR and wanted to learn a bit more about it, she was going to take photos of me aswell, since I need a new one for my ‘about me’ page (coming soon!), but getting into a bathroom around here to do my hair turned into a bigger task than I thought (again, 9 GIRLS!). I had a little trouble picking a favourite so im afraid this is a big post ;)

Leave some love if you visit :) I love to hear from you!

My children are what got me into photography, I have always taken LOTS of photos of them and we had a long period there where they would run from me if I had the camera in my hand. Sometimes experimenting or working on a new technique requires models and when you have three children they are often called upon to ‘assist’, there has been many lollipop’s passed over as bribery for just ‘one more shot’

But this time was different, Kloe actually didn’t mind me taking these photos (as much), so here she is with her BFF, Abbey, all dressed up and ready for their Year 7 ball. I have no words… they are such beauties!

Working on your craft {inspired}

December 2nd, 2010

It so important to take a step back sometimes and assess what your doing, go back to basics and be willing to learn new techniques. Sometimes its hard to find the time to work on what you truly  love doing, but when you do its so worth it!

I was lucky enough to attend a photography workshop held recently here in Echuca by Creative photo workshops, these guys are awesome at what they do and were kind enough to impart some of their wisdom on a small group of local photographers… and here are some of my results from the day.

Thank-you to the lovely models for the day, Cass is a photographer also so was awesome in front of the camera too, and we had two awesome (and handsome of course!) grooms for the day, thanks guys!

The bridge to home {and blossoms}

I was sick last week, the dreaded winter flu got me. Fortunately I got on to it early and started taking some vitamins which really took the sting out of it, feeling very blessed that while those around me have been suffering for 2 and 3 weeks with it, I managed to shake it in 5 days! So what’s a girl to do when she is unwell? Go home to mums, of course. Here are a couple of photos I took while I was in Albury.

Taken around the Hume Weir Bridge, it has been years since I have been out there, and with the recent rains the Weir didn’t look to bad.

These were taken on the side of the Highway on the way home, I spotted this stunning blossom tree and had to pull over!

I have some lovely weddings coming up that I am photographing, and I cant wait for wedding season to be in full swing and see some of these beautiful brides!
